You cannot control what people say or do to you but you can control how you react.

Not everyone may have the best intentions for us, but everyone can teach us something, may it be persistence, endurance, kindness, patience, faith, understanding, and forgiveness...  and in that light, we are given the tools to prepare for life and its ups and downs, its never ending twists and turns. It doesn't matter if it's a co-worker who whines 24/7, a friend who breaks a promise, a family member who speaks ill of us. It's true what has been said of life:

"You cannot control what people say or do to you but you can control how you react"

Not everyone may have the best intentions for us, but everyone can certainly hand us the best lessons for us, to become the best that we can ever be, and live life the best way possible.
