THE LOTUS (A Poem)

Summer winds ablaze
and mists afloat
The sun hides
But never sleeps
Tides crash
On the shore and the skin

Soaked in mud
Her face resurfaces
And the sound of thunder
Breaks through the hard earth

Do you see her now
In this abyss
Do you remember the kiss?
Can you listen to her sing
and cry?

Her song will never end
The lotus never dies
The world can sleep
But she awakes

She will return to you
