SOULSPEAK WITH TROY CASEY (Founder, CertifiedHealthNut.Com)

"I'm a man of the Earth, a sovereign nation at heart and I believe that we will live in a time where there will soon be no passports, no use for police, for prisons, for weapons, or war because there is enough resources to go around. Where you can talk to the perma-culture people, you talk to all sorts of people that know systems design, stem cell biology and thrive doing that. We can go to Nature and heal ourselves. Nature has the ability to heal. All the medicines that we need are in Nature."

TROY CASEY
Los Angeles, California

One of the trailblazers in today's health and longevity movement  and the genius behind CertifiedHealthNut.Com Troy  has so far dedicated his life showing us how to thrive in the concrete jungle. On this interview he tells  us about his growing up years, life as a model, his ruin and his rise after being sent to jail through engaging in comedy through Vipassana meditation , his quest for himself and his spiritual transformation that followed upon discovering the power of sacred plants and the primordial, perennial wisdom of the Amazon Rain Forest and their ability to activate higher states of consciousness, restore nature & bring the divine feminine into balance.

I am blessed to have Troy on Soulspeak today. Be inspired by this amazing and energetic soul , right here, right now.

WHO IS TROY CASEY? TELL ME ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND PASSIONS.
I grew up in Connecticut. My parents were hippies so when I was about one and a half we went out to San Francisco during the Haight Ashbury era of "Flower Power". That was in the 60s. When we moved back to Connecticut my parents got into a bit of trouble with the law so they ended up leaving  the country and I ended up being on my own. I was 14 at that time. I had an unconventional upbringing. I guess that's where I began to think differently. I had troubles with the law. I got incarcerated as a youth and they let me out when I was 18. That actually was a good experience for me. To be locked up and really learn to value my freedom at that time.

I put myself through school. In college I didn't really know what I wanted to do but I liked the social scene. A few people asked me if I'd ever model before. I had no idea what it was. More people asked me and finally I sought it out and started modeling.

Soon after I went to in Milan Italy. I was there for a couple of years and then I came back, worked in New York, London, Paris. Spent a lot of time in Miami. I got pretty wrapped up in the jet-set life and the life of a model and I started partying a lot. I had always used drugs when I was younger. As early as 12 years old. When I started modeling it just became the rock star lifestyle. I became extremely self destructive. Both my brothers did the same thing. My older brother sobered up, and he told me "Once you sober up  you have to deal with your mental and emotional life." I hadn't thought about that but my life was spiraling out of control. My little brother who lived in UK, he ended up overdosing. He died a couple of years ago.

About 14 years ago I moved to L.A. I knew I couldn't build a career as a drunk, and a person who had problems with drugs and alcohol, so I sobered up and then got into meditation. Somebody turned me on to Vipassana meditation. These are 10-day courses in silence. It's a very ancient technique taught in its pure form and without dogma. It's really just about sitting for ten to twelve hours a day. I found that not speaking alone was very healing. I did it for about six years. I was meditating for at least two hours a day and I had about 9 courses in silence. It helped a lot in healing my nervous system.

At the same time I started working with a Māori Shaman, and these healers from New Zealand. I saw many miracles, so I continued to volunteer whenever they came to Los Angeles and I ended up spending a lot of time with them. One of the main healers, "Papa Joe", who was famous worldwide for helping women with birthing and fertility issues was just a true master. He knew how to heal. He knew the healing arts of his tribe and knew them well. They brought in  2 young  boys one day. Just before lunch I asked where Papa Joe was. They said he was with the boys  He got on the table and started working on them. It was sort of an exorcism. It sounded like the devil was coming out. I could just feel the abuse of the kids and some of my own childhood issues. They told me to go put a hand on Papa Joe and he started to sing these really long chants that he used to do. I just cried for hours. It was extremely powerful. So I had that experience, and while I was modeling I started to study nutrition. Even though I was partying I learned a lot. I actually went vegan for two years and learned about internal nutrition and fasting.

The nutrition part came about 22 years ago, and then I got into partying, and then there was the meditation, and then working with the Māori and then continuing to explore my own journey of self discovery. I was utilizing floatation tanks and sensory deprivation. I had a really good run. . I was modeling for a while and I wasn't making any money and so I started waiting tables. And waiting tables was very rewarding for me . I put in 100% and got out with 100% which I liked.  The modeling industry wasn't like that at all.  I got real self sustaining. Got on my feet very strong and started landing on a lot of national commercials. I was doing a lot of stand-up and improvisations at the side... and booking commercials using my comedy skills. I had 5 national commercials going and I think I worked a total of 5 or 6 days for that.

I was making a lot of money and living in Venice Beach at that time and one day I said "God... give me something to do out here. I got tons of energy...Just give me something to plug into"... Soon after I was introduced to this Amazon Herb company by quite a few healers and other friends on their own spiritual path. It kept coming back  years before so I flew myself to go meet the CEO of the company and the scientists and doctors that were involved in it.. I was driven to tears. It was the real thing. The pictures that I saw from the rain forest....  I just felt a heartfelt connection. So I started sharing that knowledge immediately. I had a huge experience on the herbs myself. Call it a  kundalini rising if you will. Just another level of conscious awakening. I think I had that with the meditation and the Māori and then now with the plants from the Amazon I could really feel the essence and the spirit of the plants moving through my body. The herbs are very pure. Of course, it had a bigger purpose. It was to change the Economic dynamic in the rain forest from destruction to sustainability. This resonated with me to this day. In the Certified Health Nut everything I do is organic, good for the earth, air water and humans so this matched up to my ideals.

I became successful in the company and won a trip to the Amazon Rainforest, and to Machu Pichu and the Peruvian Highlands where I did Shamanic ceremonies. About the same time I started going back and forth to Mexico, to the Mayan temples for my own research into what 2012 was all about, what the Mayans were up to... I walked all the sacred temples in Peru and Mexico and Guatemala barefoot because they were all para - magnetic rocks designed to hold and radiate energy. I went down to Mexico about 5 times as well and did my own meditation and research.I hired a few guides but I realized that most guides were coming from belief systems that were set up from when  Columbus discovered America, basically the Catholic church and the constructs around education of what we believe to be as true. I was amazed at the atmosphere, the feeling down there, the temples themselves. The energy was just incredible in the Yucatan and Chichen Itza.I snuck into Chichen Itza twice at night, by myself. These were  powerful experiences. One day I flew down to the Yucatan. I rented a car for seven days and drove all the way out to Guatemala and back. It was very similar to the meditation because I was alone and I wasn't speaking to a lot of people. I was driving in my car a lot and I went to about ten or fifteen of the temples there, deep inside the jungle. And I crossed my way over there and to Guatemala.

The experience was life-changing and drove me to get back into the indigenous wisdom and really pick up on that. This kind of took me back into my journey to Nature and how important it is, and to have respect and reverence for it. And then of course going into the Amazon, my life changed forever.  In meeting the brothers and sisters, the indigenous partners that we worked with, I just saw how humanity was so connected and that there's so much love in everyone and in this gift called Life. I spent about three weeks in Peru and the last week in the Amazon where I had joined in sacred ceremonies. The sensuality of the people down there was so incredible . The oxygen was incredible and the Ayahuasca was just so extremely powerful and they call that the mother of all plants.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR AYAHUASCA EXPERIENCE.
The plant is the most intelligent force that I have ever felt on this planet and it's such an important plant because a lot of the best moments in my life happened after my experience with it. My intention was clear I wanted to connect to the divine feminine in all its aspects and I got a heavy dose of it just being with the earth.  I had visions of a little baby's female spirit and I had a vision for not only the female spirit but also I wasn't married and I wasn't dating anyone at that time. either.  When I came back I actually had met a girl , we quickly got connected and  explored our relationship , we soon after got married and conceived our first child . We have two lovely children now. She joined me in the amazon as well. She was successful at it she won the  trip the following year.

I had quite a few visions. The first one that came up was what the ancient scriptures are talking about now , these times--its all here and its time to change and change yesterday and this was 2006 and the way to do it is exactly what Jesus said which was LOVE and not in a religious context at all but love as the answer. Love in action. So I went back a few times and filmed a documentary. The answer that came back to me always was that Love and Gratitude is everything.

HOW WAS "THE CERTIFIED HEALTH NUT" CREATED? WHAT IS YOUR   MISSION VISION?
The Certified Health Nut is an amalgamation of all my studies and my on camera and comedy background merged in that first trip in the amazon. When I came out of the Amaznon YouTube was a new phenomenon, and I started to post videos there. People started to respond immediately so I started to build on them , creating educational material. The essence of the Certified Health Nut really is to inspire. It's not really meant to get on the soap box and preach although I had that in me and you can see that in some of my lectures. However I believe that when I steep in comedy... in lightness in levity it is a form of enlightenment too. It alleviates the pressure from the need for everything to be so 'heavy'.

I've come out here in Hollywood destined to build a career. The goal was to go into TV with The Certified Health Nut idea and brand it. Branding the holistic lifestyle out as 'cool'. That's my current mission. Any other people that I partner with whether it be the Amazon herb company or John Easterling and his wife Olivia Newton John, or my mentor now, Paul Check. Anyone who gets the bigger picture. And the bigger picture I believe is the common denominator for our human heritage which is clean air, water and soil. I worked to do my best to uphold information that allows people to make choices that are right for them. I don't like to make judgement and looked for the neutral most non threatening presentation . The statistics we see right now at least in the Unites States, is that 67% of the American people is obese , weve got Chronic fatigue, one of two have cancer Diabetes is of epidemic proportion , and that's Type 2 Diabetes not 1. You've got Autism, all these newborn issues and so that tells me that there is something systemically wrong and it has to do especially with the food supply and the soil

I found Paul Chek through his video "The Dirt Facts"... I kept on watching that. It was extensive 2 hour long lecture on our inter-relatedness to the soil and the microbes in the soil . Our health is directly related to that. The soil, as well as  many other aspects of our eco-system including the Amazon is at a critical point right now. All my waking hours are working towards illuminating this aspect in a palatable way so people can understand without turning on the hippie fruitcake zealot. That's my goal and my mission right now to inspire and offer this information and to activate higher states of consciousness among the next generation of people along with this generation

I believe two things are necessary for the future of the human species and that is Systems need to change across the board - economical, political geo- political, ecologically, commercially. Everything needs to be revamped. And the only thing that will  support that is human consciousness being raised. So systems change and consciousness evolution are the two aspects that I believe are destined to change this world.

Part of the mission of The Certified Health Nut is to go out there and align and unify with anyone who understands this. And  I believe heres a lot of people in the environmental and the health field that are splitting hairs and the fact of the matter is is that there is more than one way to tell a person "I love you" so to find common ground and unity from there. I lectured in Occupy LA and what I saw a lot in that movement is the 99% to 1% split and that's still a separation. We are 100% connected and the 1% are just the brothers and sisters that have lost their way. It is part of our responsibility to help  assist and guide them back to some form of awareness that we are all connected and that we're all connected to the earth. That's what basically drives me on a day to day basis.

YOU MENTIONED PARTICIPATING IN  OCCUPY LA, CAN YOU TALK MORE ABOUT THIS ?
I think the occupy movement is VERY VERY IMPORTANT. And I think it will be one of the critical measures to raise consciousness on this planet, and I believe that when the Northern Hemisphere warms up here in Spring I believe that it's going to catch on like fire like we've never seen it before. In saying we are driven to start looking at and defining the common denominator for people. We can split hairs just like watching politics in the United States. People want to say Democrat , Republican, Libertarian , what about abortion ...what about this etc? --The fact of the matter is if we don't have clean air, water and soil then there will be no banking , there will be no politics , there will be NOTHING because our ability to procreate and live as a species will be destroyed. And this is already documented truth this isn't just pessimism or going down that road. Francis Pottenger, did a study in the 40s where he studied the effects of junk food or basic commercial food on cats and within four generations they went sterile. They were losing their hairs. Their health declined eventually.

We are in the fourth generation of commercial food in the United States and we are now hearing infertility issues with men. We're seeing this a lot. It is coming home to roost. I live in Santa Monica California and we've got 3-5 thousand vets living in the beach out here. All coming from the wars in Iraq. That's putting a strain on the tax structure, the cultural aspect. The wars that we are creating are coming home to roost. We have our own infrastructure problems, and housing problems. It's all interconnected.

We can't talk about almost anything in this planet whether its abortion, this that or the other thing until we talk about our own humanity and connection. It's just time to stop all this nonsense. Most of the wars that are propagated by the Unites States are all done on Natural resources. Most people don't understand that their responsibility as a human being is to  be conscious of all their actions because they are creating the reality which is our world.

We have a car in our family. I don't drive it as much as possible. I utilize it sometimes . I walk and ride the bicycle as much as possible. So for our protesting in Occupy LA and we're driving to the protest we have to be at least cognizant of that and or be weaning ourselves off of petroleum and or talking about free energy and or entering the conversation into the human template.I think it's imperative that all human beings rise up  at any level they can whether it's questioning the job that they don't like that they're in or the people that they work for. It's always asking the bigger picture.

Being at the Occupy movement and watching people eat junk food that was  coming from corporations that  known to produce food that can cause lesions on the brain whether its drinking diet coke or eating Cheetos and foods with GMO corn. It's all intertwined and unless we get get very cognizant that we are all connected and that our purchases, voting with your dollars is so important because you are supporting those things that you are protesting the most. It time for even the conscious people out there step their game up to a higher level including myself.  On a day to day basis I would like to be growing my own food as well, however, I'm living in one of the big cities and I'm living in the modern world.  I have businesses and bigger media projects. So I have to do the best that I can in the moment. And that is all anyone can really do. However if someone can't quit their job and they're working for a multi-national corporation that is raping and pillaging different parts of the world they can at least take videos in YouTube that are talking about the new paradigm and they can post it up to their friends.

Facebook has the ability to connect us to our mother, brother, sister and our ex-girlfriends or boyfriends in high school and all these great stuff. Like the American Indians, I believe that the internet is divinely orchestrated.

I interviewed Chief Phil Lane Jr. ,  the holder of Crazy Horse's pipe, at my house for a movie called "Shift to the Ages" which is all about the Mayan High priest Don Alejandro. He prophecized a long time ago that the spiritual web of life would be manifest in the physical and they believe that's the digital internet age. I got chills when they said that because I believed that too for a long time.. especially being able to share very unique footage of indigenous tribes in the Amazon singing very powerful ceremonial songs that through their frequency and vibration they are able to make people who have not heard of it driven to tears. And I know this because people have written me many times on YouTube and Facebook.

WHAT IS IT THAT YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING? WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
What I love to do is really what I'm doing right now which is talking to people about what we're doing on this planet. What we're doing as a species. We have the ability to create heaven on earth and it is now time to realize that. Martin Luther King was a firm believer that peace on earth is attainable. I don't think he believed it in his lifetime, but in ours. We can create peace on earth right. I believe it is coming, and it is coming soon.

Everything I do I work to raise consciousness. I don't necessarily have all the answers. I've got plenty of questions and plenty of things to look at. As human beings if we can build airplanes and high performance automobiles and jet engines and aircraft carriers and stealth bombers then we can do anything. If the Mayans, Egyptians and Incans all built temples that are unexplainable to this day then I don't believe that we are on the height of human civilization. Our most technological advancement cannot lift the stones that are in Saxa Woman, Puma Punku in Bolivia,  Giza in Egyp. The alignment of some of these temples are in perfect astronomical alignment with the Mayans, the Pleiades and to Venus rising and the North Star. They had no mathematics back then and some of these stones  were observed to be cut like laser diamonds. So now we have to ask the bigger questions of ourselves. Does Coca Cola, MTV and Apple computers, does all of human civilization say we have arrived? If the answer to the question is "no" then we want to dig deeper and we want to ask the deeper questions: "What am I here to do?"... "If I am a child of God then I have the power of God inside of me. What am I doing with that power? Am I awakening to it or am I continuing to dumb it down with commercialized food , with a job that I hate, driving in traffic that I abhor?"... And I'm not saying that transitioning out of this is easy... however if we start making those incremental changes towards this awareness and at least at the bare minimum which is my key message "HEALTHY ME EQUALS A HEALTHY PLANET" , we can manifest that transition. Gandhi said "Become the change that you wish to see in the world". How do you expect to see a healthy world if we as individuals, as environmentalists, as green sustainability people aren't healthy ourselves?  If our own temple as it were, is not strong and fortified? These are some of the deeper questions. And if people wanna start rising up to more information then there's plenty of information and especially what is available from Paul Check and his website.  That's a whole blueprint for a new human being. It's a twelve month program talking through step by step whether it's a business plan, sacred listening. His first lesson is on your legacy: What do you come to space ship earth to do? What is your dream? What do you love to do? What are your core values? Do you value the soil? Do you value yourself? Do you value your mother? Do you value the Earth where you were born?

And I don't want to go to nationalities,  I'm a man of the Earth, a sovereign nation at heart and I believe that we will live in a time where there will soon be no passports, no use for police, for prisons, for weapons, or war because there is enough resources to go around. Where you can talk to the perma-culture people, you talk to all sorts of people that know systems design, stem cell biology and thrive doing that. We can go to Nature and heal ourselves. Nature has the ability to heal. All the medicines that we need are in Nature. God put them for us here. God did not forsake us, God did not make mistakes, and so we need to ask ourselves, did we forsake God? And I'm not saying 'God' this in a religious sense, because I believe that there's a lot of erroneous teachings in there from the spiritual axioms and the scriptures  that they come from. All the spiritual scriptures on this planet basically say the same thing. One can look at the world religion and say  how can we have three monotheistic religions? That's a oxymoron in itself. We have to look deeply at our own beliefs. Not the spiritual teachings themselves.

Michael Franti, a musician and human rights worker  did a movie called "I Know I'm Not Alone"  where he went to Iraq he spent his own money , and he went and sang his own songs even if the government said they couldn't guarantee his safety. The movie is great. The fact of the matter is that it was like me going to the Amazon. People are people, we've all got love in our hearts. And if we have food, a roof on our heads, we can all find happiness and health. But if we're raping and pillaging natural resources for greed mechanisms, Even economies, let's face it... The American is going around starting wars for people's oil and then utilizing it for our own economy and part of the world's economy.

I encourage everyone to really look in their heart and ask where they can ship their own consciousness. Look at themselves and take their own responsibility for what goes in their own bloodstream, what thought's they're thinking. We're all super connected. Like I said it's not that I'm not guilty of doing most of these things myself but I believe that God entertains all thoughts which means he entertains and participates in rape, pillage and war. However, we were gifted free will in this world and it is what we do with that free will that matters most. I believe there is  a time to evolve to a higher state of consciousness and to create peace on earth.I believe it's doable, I believe it's foreseeable no matter what because I believe it and I say it.

WHAT IS LOVE FOR YOU?
Love for me is living life at the highest potential and recognizing our true responsibility on this planet.

YOUR ONE MESSAGE TO THE WORLD.
HEALTHY ME EQUALS A HEALTHY PLANET. Health is mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. It's not like most of the health gurus on YouTube say: "what you put in your mouth". it's "what comes out of your mouth".
