Recently I had a chance to connect with such a wonderful soul on Twitter. Her name is Jennifer Alhasa, a native of Queens NY. I remember throwing out a message a few weeks ago : "One day I hope to interview Prince on Soulspeak..." and she responded "Here's to your manifestations!". I was thankful for that short and sweet note and connected with her. I was surprised to learn she has a show called "GET GLOWING" a radio show for your Soul's Awakening ...and even more surprised and just in awe to find out that she had survived breast cancer and that she is doing all the beautiful things she is doing right now as part of her own awakening from the experience. It was such a nice chat that I had with Jennifer. She really is an epitome of what she teaches. Today, I am happy to share this moment of light with you.
WHO IS JENNIFER ALHASA?
I'm a Spiritual Coach and Intuitive Guide, and what that means to me and my work in the world is that I help people uncover their light and ignite their lives. My mission is guide others to their greatest good through Divine guidance, energy & intuition. Following my own internal GPS, I'll go where Sprit leads me!Right now, that means horse whispering, nurturing in nature and lighting the way for our awakening world! I see myself teaching, traveling and taking the GLOW show on the road!
It wasn't really like that... I think what happened on my path and what happens to a lot of us who end up doing this work is that we had this and we did this as children and we were bright lights and we were very connected to our soul's purpose and then things happen, life comes along. I lost my way somewhere in my adolescence. I got into a pattern of really dimming my light. Stuffing my feelings. I had a difficult adulthood. I had Cancer and that woke me up.
TELL ME ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT CANCER AND HOW DID YOU DEAL?
I found a lump in my breast which my Dr. dismissed given my age (34) and lack of family history. Three months later, I went back and was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. A call to a Cindy-the-psychic awakened me to my own empowerment and I chose to create a life worth living. While I got traditional treatment (chemo, radiation & surgery), I also became an "alternative therapy slut." I read Bernie Siegel, Bioenergetics, laid on Migun massage beds and syncho-zapped myself! traded happy hour for meditation, discovered yoga and made my way to Unity and NYC. I got a great therapist, embraced intimacy and went on as many retreats as possible. I picked up a Leica, found photography and unleashed the artist inside of me.
Manifesting and marrying my soul mate forced me to face my fear of being unlovable. While I’ve wanted to run away, working through it has been the biggest blessing of my life. I’m learning to choose love over fear, and, when fear’s winning, I tune into my heart. Through spiritual practice, I deepen my Divine connection, honor my gifts and nurture my nature!
TELL ME ABOUT THE RADIO WORK.
I have had a life-long dream of working on a radio show and it was always one of those things when I was working in my office job. I'd say it was out there-- I wanna have a radio show. That's what I really wanna do but at that moment I was being an office manager. And then after I got Cancer and got on the Spiritual path, I realized there's no day tomorrow that we should be putting things off into. If I wanted to have a radio show and this is my dream then I should go for it. One day I woke up and decided to just start it. Thank God for the internet and all the tools out there available to us now. It's called GET GLOWING and it's on BlogTalkRadio every Friday from 11 to 11:30 am Eastern. I call it "Awakening Radio for your Soul".
HOW HAS BEING ON RADIO CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
I feel so much joy in my life and I feel so much happier everyday. There is a lightness, a glow, a joy that comes from the inside out. None of that drudgery. When you're following your path and living on purpose, life gets pretty exciting and everyday I can't wait to have my radio show, I can't wait to do coaching with clients and help them uncover their light.
IF YOU WERE WITH A GROUP OF LITTLE CHILDREN WHAT WOULD YOU TEACH THEM?
I look at kids and I say to myself, we were born this way. This is something that we came with. We all shine our lights, we all speak our truths, we all act silly, we write, sing and dance, we make funny faces and then at some point society, our parents or some person in our life tells us "Hmm, don't do that" , "That's now how we act around here.", "That's not okay.". We're told to just tuck the parts of ourselves that are 'unacceptable' or aren't 'lovable' right?
So you know what I would do when I'm with kids is that I'll watch them and ask them "What is your advice to us?". They have the wisdom. And what we really need to do is talk to the adults and say "Let's look at how we've parented." , "Let's look at how we've raised this village." I think that's happening more and more now. Say for instance there's a child that likes to dress up as a boy when she was born a girl , years ago that would have been like unheard of that a parent would just say "Okay my son wants to wear pink all day go for it!" Yes, we're seeing more of that sort of thing where we really just love people unconditionally.
Watching kids is the greatest gift, and I'm glad you brought that up because they are the greatest teachers on this planet. What is it they do? They live in the moment, they love freely, they express their feelings, they get dirty, play in the mud... They're really authentic in their feelings and in who they are.
ANY REGRETS?
I think I've done a lot of forgiveness work on myself. I don't really have any regrets. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF FROM THIS EXPERIENCE?
That I'm a Divine being. Love is all there is. Love is who we are and what matters in this world... I and it all starts with that self-love... I would love to talk to 13 or 14 year old girls and really share with them that message of how important it is to really look and love yourself first, and honor yourself and treat yourself as a precious gift that you are.
It's also important be connected to people and to open our hearts. This world is so small if we let it be. Just look at how we've connected through Twitter and just look at all the amazing people who connect with us on Facebook and social media. Just yes to all these magical opportunities and all these magical people who come into our lives.
WHAT HAVE YOU UNLEARNED?
I've unlearned "I don't deserved to be loved." ... I've unlearned "It's not safe to be in the spotlight." ...I've unlearned "I should this ..." or "I should that...." or simply look back at the things with regret. I've unlearned all of that.
YOUR MAJOR INFLUENCES.
My major influences are Mother Nature, the Ascended Masters, Archangel Michael, the Akashic Records, Andrew Harvey, Maureen Moss and the music of Karen Drucker, Emmanuel Dagher & Adele!
WHAT IS LOVE?
Love is everything. Love is the connection. It's our being. It's who we are and why we came here. I think it's the answer to all the global problems we see. It's reaching out to our neighbor and really start ing with the person next door, and just sending this wave of energy. To me it's the energy of connection and seeing the other as myself.
IF THERE WAS ONE THING YOU WANT TO CHANGE ABOUT THE WORLD WHAT WOULD IT BE?
The fear. It's so pervasive. The mass media , a lot of the things we read and a lot of the advertising is designed to make us feel more afraid. By a magic wand I'd like to instill faith in the people and to know that everything is okay and everything is in divine order no matter what it looks like. My gift would be FAITH. Faith for the world and freedom from so much fear.
ANY MEMORABLE GUESTS ON YOUR SHOW?
One of the memorable guests in my show is Eleesha who's an automatic writer from England. I ask everyone on my show 'What does get GLOWing mean to you?' and she did an automatic writing from her soul and really gave this full, deep beautiful response from her soul... her spirit.That really touched me because I felt that it was coming directly from God, for all of us. We continued to connect through Twitter, and uplift each other. It was almost like the Universe answering the questions that I have about Get GLOWing... 'What am I doing in the world?'... 'What is my message?' ... through her. It was so beautiful.
YOUR ONE MESSAGE TO THE WORLD.
Love yourself... truly madly deeply, and really get in there. Get those blocks out. Peel all the things that are holding you back from loving yourself as deeply as you can. Just love yourself... Everything else will follow from that.
