SOULSPEAK WITH BRANDON GILBERT OF HYPERION TV

"When you do something radical like this people can say 'Oh you shouldn't do that...'  on some level you have to really get beyond needing approval and support from other people and maintain your vision and just move forward and do what you have to do"

Brandon Gilbert, Louiseville Kentucky

If You Don't See The Road To Your Dream,
Pave It.

I always enjoy meeting people who just go after their dreams whatever the cost or circumstance, defying odds or perceived limits in order to achieve what they want for them or what they know is best for them. Such is the case for Brandon Gilbert who is paving his way to his dream and at such a young age already inspiring  a large number of viewers to live healthy and live right through what he has learned from age long secrets from Taoism, to Buddhism to Zen.. He  hosts a series of informative videos on Hyperion TV offering tips on health and longevity, cooking up elixirs and organic recipes from a myriad of herbs and and just  empowering people to reach their goals and become aware of their potentials and their deep and strong connection with Nature.

I always believed that wisdom is knowledge coupled with action, and Brandon is a living example of what one person can achieve when he puts his mind on his goal and and acts upon it, with utmost faith and trust in himself and in the universe he harmonizes with , and see only good things coming out of that. Because whatever we put out is what we get in return too, and oftentimes even more.

Tell me how it all started.
It all started from me essentially trying to solve my own problems and improve my own life. Throughout my my teenage years I had a lot of depression, a lot of anxiety, and fear. I really wasn’t in a very good healthy emotional and physical state. Even though I was an athlete at that time and I was very competitive and very active socially, on the  inside I wasn’t happy. I just wanted to feel better and I   didn’t know how that was going to happen. I just started trying  anything and everything.

I was honestly a huge fan of Kung Fu movies and Star Wars and that's how  I got introduced to  Chinese Philosophy and all other things influenced by that. I was also a big fan of Bruce Lee so I watched all of his movies. And then I found out he had books  so I bought his books. He was talking about Taoism, Zen… things I never heard of . From reading Bruce Lee I said "Oh let me start learning Taoism, and Buddhism, and Zen" and  I started following that. From there everything  sort of snowballed and got me to where I am today.

Was this something you dreamed of as a child?
Honestly, a lot of what I dreamed about as a kid was being famous on some level (laughs) and also practicing Martial arts on some level as well. Like I mentioned, I was into Star Wars, Kung Fu movies... I always wanted to be like that and now I sort of started working my way there a little bit and a lot of other things that go  along with that... Slowly, I'm starting to build a presence or following online. So in some levels  I'm kind of doing what I dreamed about just in a way I never thought was possible.

What is it about what you do that you love most?
I would say first and foremost it's helping people make a difference in their lives .... Helping them see the world differently and see themselves differently and then out of that different perspective to be able to take different actions and transform their own lives --that’s one of  the most valuable things. People might look at where I am now and think that’s just how it is  but honestly I’ve  felt a lot of pain and a lot of suffering and  a lot of just negative emotions in my life an I can really empathize with people when they are suffering and so for me that’s really rewarding. I get comments from people all the time saying “This helped me”  and "this was transforming" ..."thanks for this and thanks for that" I really enjoy that…. On top of that I really enjoy being able to   do what I love , share my passion  and inspiration and things that are  helping me, with a lot of people and hence be able to really do what I love for a living.

That’s so important… and true. Whatever you do in service of  others serves you as well! Okay so you talked about viewer testimonials.  Can you recall one of the most memorable ones?
There's a few different things I’ve gotten from people ---  just the other day I got an e-mail from a  lady   saying  she has been watching my videos once in the morning when she wakes up and once at night before she goes to bed... I thought that was pretty cool. And a few messages on the lines of “Hey I watched x amount of your videos, I'm like super inspired. Thanks so much...” Those were some recent things I could recall that was pretty cool to see

While you were setting up this business. Did you get any help or support ? Or was it all you?
Pretty much it's been all me I’ve just been lucky to learn from people through courses and books and things like that .. and just in the last year or so I have my Kung Fu teacher who  I've learned a lot from  , and some accupuncturists and practitioners here  locally that  I learned a lot from too... but from a business perspective I pretty  much studied and taught myself   everything that I know, all the technicques and everything that I've done so far has just been coming out of me.

I'm the type of person that will  really just do things on my own and not worry or seek approval from anyone else. That's just how I've always been  even at a young age... independent.  It paid off in a lot of ways.  When you do something radical like this  people can say "Oh you shouldn't do that”  on some level you have to really get beyond needing approval and support from other people and maintain your vision and just move forward and do what you have to do.

What have you learned about  yourself from this experience?
I would say just one  of the main things is  that I am capable of a lot more  —meaning life is just a series of levels. Because when we reach  a certain level whether that’s success or fulfillment or achieving a goal there's always a next level, there's always room to grow and to refine and more to learn... there's always different ways to expand and express yourself---  that’s the biggest thing I've learned and I'm still learning because everyday theres something new.

What have you Un-learned?
There's a lot that's have to be unlearned....  a lot of it is the programing about  the way the world is and the way he world works ... how we're sort of sold as children... for example you have to work   really really hard or you have to struggle or money is bad  or you don’t deserve to have what you want. All the things I've let go of and un-learned, because if you help a lot people you will be rewarded for that ....and    trusting that energy and like really tapping in and tuning in to the nature of how the world works and how   there is an invisible world ... there is a world we can't see that really has   a huge influence over  what we do see. And not just being mislead by what we can  see but more so learning how to work with what we can feel and sense and   know--- that’s been a lot of what I had to unlearn...Still  unlearning. Like I said we're never done nothing's ever  complete its always more levels and  different ways to refine ourselves.

There will always be challenges in your line of work  specifically your critics -- How do you stay on top of it and how do you keep the trust of those who support you?
Well as far as people who don’t support me or say negative things I typically just ignore them -- that’s not really worth my time or energy. I'm not here to convert or to convince anyone....  I share what I share from my own experience...  I'm upfront with that, so if someone doesn't  like it or doesn’t wanna hear it or doesn't resonate with me that's fine... they should probably go to someone else because  reality is pretty abundant, and we  should really focus on things that resonate with us. I'm not here arguing whats right or wrong it's just more so  of what fits what and what  feels good ... and a lot people who criticize just really don't understand and there's  nothing I can do about that  because I do everything I can to explain my point as clearly and concise as possible.  Anytime you put yourself out there there is  always gonna be someone who won't agree  or won't get it it's just part of the process.

As far as those who support me  -- I really just stay in tune with my own feelings and be true to myself ---be authentic , be honest , be legit ....I don’t try to pretend to be someone  else or someone I am not and if that works fine with people that's fine and if not that’s fine too.

How do you see yourself in the next 5 -10 years lets say. Would you be having kids and still doing what you are doing?
Yes and no.

My first priority is to be true to myself ... I'm always growing and expanding and evolving and growing...  if that’s where my path goes then I'm not against it and honestly in 5 – 10 years I plan to reach different people and be in a significantly different place in my life.  I have a vision, but w.ll see.

Do you have one video that allowed your world to change -- a turning point of it all?
I think for me it's more of a gradual thing. I cant recall one video that set it off just because I think my best work is yet to come and my biggest work is yet to happen. --- I don't feel like I really had that huge turning point yet I'm  always refining and improving and tweaking and re-doing.

Is there anything that you've always wanted to do and had not done yet. Whats keeping you from doing it?
Good question.Well I have financial goals and various lifestyle goals but those are all unfolding in time...What I don’t do is dream or project too much in the future--- I tend to stay focused on now and be focused on projects that I am working on or things I want to manifest.

On Love
Love is the feeling which reminds you of how it is like to be in harmony woith your true self and the cosmos at large.

What are some of the risks you've taken lately?
I think in my eyes it’s a major risk to put yourself out there .... you can probably resonate as a writer.
Whenever  you take something that’s very  intimate to you that or that comes to you in a flash or in quiet time with yourself and you share that with other people , it feels very risky.  That's definitely something I do on a regular basis... and also just really being focused on expanding growing and really just  pushing forward and being open to all new lessons and all the abundance and all the gifts that the cosmos is always trying to give us. I think there's a value in being focused and being one-pointed on things but  at the same time we can kind of lose and miss out on maybe what the universe is trying to give us ....or show us or where it is trying to lead us... So I try to stay   open and receptive to  inspiration or ideas. To me that's pretty risky as well because it puts a huge amount of faith and trust in something that you don't necesarrily see.

Can you say you're enjoying your freedom?
Definitely, yeah.

I pretty much do what I want all day, everyday from when I wake up 'til when  I go to sleep  and if I wanted to travel right now or if I wanted to go somewhere and stay  for a month I could or if I wanted to live somewhere else for however long... I could do that. It's definitely a really important thing to me is having  freedom over my time not just because I like to sit around  and do nothing but because I want to work on the things I'm passionate about  - I want to read about things and research things and and be creative and practice my Ba-gua... and do the things I want to do. That's why freedom is so important.

What's your Outlook for 2012?
I feel like  2012 is probably going to be one of the best years of my life--- I feel more of a global expansion... a lot of change a lot of innovation not necessarily because of some mystical or spiritual force or collective consciousness -- not that I'm saying it's not real or it doesn't exist but for the simple fact of how fast information has been spreading thanks to technology and cellphones and just the way that we've used information . Things are moving faster and there's more to share ... it’s a really an exciting time to be alive and people are not only sharing but also learning. If it weren't for the internet I wouldn't be here where I am.... that's a trend that will only continue to snowball this year and the next.

Your ONE MESSAGE to the world.
To study and understand Nature and harmonize with it as much as possible.
