October's Gone (A Poem)

The winter breeze
has seized the morning sunbeams
and my skin,
The leaves descend from trees
and brittle branches start to thin
A flock of birds have disappeared
beyond the sea and skies
while snowflakes fall and bring the world
to rest before my eyes

The earthen colors fade to grey
and now October's gone
The land is dim, the air is cold
The night is very long ...
I move a little closer to the
window by the bed
I linger in a daydream
and remember what you said:

"I may not be there when
it comes--- the hour we've spoken of
But keep this fire in my words
The fires of my Love...
For even in your Darkest Night
A glimmer you will see
'Twas in You where I saw the Light
I longed to spark in me."
