No Time Is Ever Wasted When Spent In Happy Places

Recently I saw my 5 yr old daughter picking up the phone and say "I need to call Sofie" (her best friend) I asked her why, and she goes "Because I know her number, and I know how to dial it!" When she reaches Sofie, they start talking about things that absolutely made no sense like "Can you make this sound? toink!" or "Can you guess what I'm doing?" or "My dog is barking loud."... I saw her eyes sparkle with excitement, she was laughing, she was so happy. They call each other all the time, and all the time all they do is say silly things and laugh at each other.

It's true -- a lot of times, we hold back from reaching out to each other because we're afraid of what the other person will say or think, or we are convinced we have better and more important things to do. A lot of times we will not connect with people unless we need them , unless they can do something for us . How many times do we say, "I'm seeing a friend today because I can", or "I'm calling my dad because I just feel like calling him" ? We hold back doing the things that bring us joy, even if we are capable of doing them -- because we are always looking for reasons.

No time is ever wasted when spent in happy places. Take away reason and inhibition and we'll find ourselves in the same place ... just like these little girls --- Living, laughing, and loving.
